Hey guys, i have a question. I want to buy my first car in ireland, and before i buy any car, i want to try it first. cos im not gonna buy brand new, but used one. How can i insure myself only for this day of trying ? lets say, the car im gonna buy has NCT, has tax, but what about insurance, i dont want to risk it. thanks

That's the problem, you can't get temp insurance for this*
You can however bring someone with you that have "other cars" on their policy and let them drive. You should probably have someone else with you anyway to help find issues with car (some people will pay for and bring a mechanic).

* you must already have a car that is insured and have "other cars" on the policy. Car insurance is tied to a car in Ireland and not to a person.
