    Folks,

The company I usually deal with in the UK - the quite simply brilliant Photo Shield via Risk Alliance - have stopped dealing with Irish customers. I've been trying to get a quote here from one particular company but have been lead around in circles for the last week answering a plethora of random questions, taking photos of the locks in my house and supplying an equipment list with serial numbers only to be told that the values need to be in sterling (even Photo Shield were fine with euros!) before I eventually gave up and I'm back to square one again.

For the record, I've no problem supplying all the information required, that's part and parcel of having the correct cover in place. However, I'm not going to do someone else's job for them. I'm also not going to name the company as one bad experience doesn't a bad company make, but I'm exhausted from trying to get just a simple quote. I generally have my cover sorted with two or three e-mails over the course of an afternoon. It's been over a week and I'm still no closer to being covered again.

I'm looking for comprehensive equipment cover and public liability insurance. Who are you using or have had positive experiences with previously?

    Thank you :)

May not be relevant to your needs but I used heritage insurance group a few years ago. The link I had redirects to www.olig.ie now

Ever since Steve left PhotoShield I left them. I heard two horror stories about claims from Irish photographers (and I think that was part of why Steve left them too).

I deal with camerainsurance.ie and have had no issues with them. Cover is great, price is comparable to anything out there, and they are Irish.

Talk to Balfey1972. He's the man in there. :D

Yup I'd be the same as Paul. I used to be with Aaduki in the UK but they now run their insurance through Camerainsurance.ie for Irish customers.

Sadly not all that many companies to shop around with in Ireland.

I have just insured through Keystone Insurance who got me a better quote than camerainsurance.ie.

I also used to be with Aaduki, but now that it's through camerainsurance.ie the premium was much higher.
