I've some nice ones open here on donedeal but I'm afraid to buy any of them - a lot seem to have around 150k miles also.

Are these a good car to buy? I was told they were.

    Thanks.

150k miles would not be huge mileage on a 10 year old diesel. Watch out for jaded ex taxis though, lots of those tired old dogs out there for sale. If you could stretch to a MkII it would be a more modern design.

    150k/10 years = 15k/year. Barely above average.

Judge each car on its own merits or otherwise as the case may be.

I wouldn't be afraid of an ex taxi when buying a cheap diesel; of course some are dogs but many are well maintained. Mileage means nothing when taking into account how a car has been used and maintained.
