I'm looking at a 1990 car and the NCT is out more than a year. If get it tested what will be the expiry date of the new cert? Will it be the next anniversary of registration?

It will get you one year, if the anniversary is June then you'll get until June 2015

unless you do it up to 3months early.

9 months late is considered 3 months early, so you will get a 15month NCT cert.

But 8 months late, will just get you 4 months NCT

In this instance it seems car has passed its anniversary and should get a full year (from anniversary).
