P50 - have moved abroad this year (lots of confusing threads already!)

Hi mods, I’ve searched through many threads on this subject but they don’t seem to be that clear or some contradict eachother. I know there is a sticky on this but it makes no mention of the form p50 and only mentions applying for S 822 and split level basis etc which is just confusing.

So, I’ve moved to the UK earlier in the year. I moved from Irish office to UK office on a permanent basis. Finished up in irish office, took few days off, moved over and started immediately in the uk. So I paid tax at higher rate on income earned in Jan & Feb and looking to reclaim it. I’m hoping somebody can answer the questions I have below.

    1. Is P50 (plus p2&3 of p45) all I need to send to Revenue?
    2. Am I entitled to a tax refund straight away or will I have to wait until after 31 December (note it’s over 4 weeks since I ceased work in Ireland).
    3. Will stating I’m working abroad affect whether I get a tax refund or not?
    4. Do I send it to my local revenue office or a central one that processes this form? (I’ve seen both mentioned in other threads).
    5. Has anyone in a similar position had to wait until after the tax year closed in Ireland before getting a refund or even were they refused one altogether?

    Thanks,
    Dick.

Sorry, I think I understand the section 822 split year thing better now. Do people think my best course of action is to send a form P50, pages 2&3 of my P45 along with a letter stating I’m applying for split year residence under section 822 as of the date I left the country ?

Should I include the details of my UK bank account and my UK contact address? Or just leave it as the address (parent’s) and bank account registered with revenue currently?
