    Lads,

Looking to buy an audi a4 for about 15k or thereabouts. 2.0l tdi.

    the are 120, 136 to 143bhp.

is there a huge difference. would 120bhp be alright?

    thanks

The 120bhp is ok, nothing to write home about but to be honest either a 140bhp or 170bhp version would be nippier and nicer to have imo.

VW Passat CC would worth looking at too, same engines as the Audi (bar the 120bhp version) and €15k would get you a 2009/2010 model. The CC is generally better speced than most A4s in this country.

As well as better looking and much, much rarer.

Real head turner imo, whereas A4s are seen on every corner.

right, you can get more for your money with them alright. what are your opinions on the opel insignia 160bhp, looks good, any issues?

or the octavia vrs? will be doing a lot of motorway miles so need something comfortable for long spins

Octavia is too noisy for long motorway work.

I have a 2010 136bhp 2.0TDI and the torque is very poor compared to me old Passat 2.0TDI PD which was far superior. It depends if you like a bit of torque or not.....

As suggested you should look at the 170bhp but they are rare in this country.
