Friend has very small business and 2 offices, 3 people in each office,

he needs to share files between both offices, I was thinking of dropbox pro and install of all pcs and problem solved

Emails are ok as he using a hosted email solution and webmail on the pcs, so if people move between office this wont be an issue

Apart from using Dropbox what other option has he got ?? cloud based

I know we can go down the route of a server and site to site VPN but for such a small amount of users and 5 gig data max, I dont think this is worth it?

    Thanks!

BTSync is a good option. Cut out the middleman, ie dropbox... A solution doesn't need to be cloud based.

I have my doubts about dropbox personally.

    What about teamviewer.
    http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx

Will there always be someone in office A and office B?
John in office A could grant Edel in office B access to any PC.

Or you could recycle an old PC as a server of sorts and just have everyone log into it using teamviewer.

    HI Maik3n

Teamviewer wont do as there will be people using all pcs in each office, and using an old PC as a server wont work, As then I woudl need site to site VPNS and so on

    Thanks

Yeah I'd be going with Office 365. Move email to 365 and use One Drive for business for sharing the files.

~I think drop box pro is the way to go ?

1TB of storage along with your Office license ...if you're a windows based company the Office365 solution seems like a no-brainer, vendor lockin or not. fact of the matter is, most small businesses can only afford vendor specific solutions because they are seriously discounted. When the company gets bigger it can think about ethics and open source and other lofty ideals.

Another option is Google apps for business. Gives you all you need on a pay monthly or yearly basis
