Booked a last minute flight to turkey on Friday, flying into Bodrum..

I was in turkey before and I remember they took both Lira and Euro in most places, This was probably 2004 though when they had 6 0's behind everything.

    Is it still the same?

Presuming banks wont have lira in stock and would be special order.

I know a lot of the time they took Euro and gave change back in lira. (plenty tried to rip us off too)

anyone been recently and know how it is these days?

If you can take Sterling & change it to TL over there. Prices will be displayed
in €/£ & TL in most places.

Just land in Turkey and find your way to Main Post office to get Exchange .

Do NOT get exchange at the neither Dub Airport ,Turkish Airport or Turkish taxi drivers. You may also go to proper exchange office in most of highly populated holiday towns.

at current days : € 100 is equal to 285-290 Turkish lira. No more zeross ( 00)

try to make a bargain before you do any shopping or travel unless there is a fixed price for it.

There are lots of cheeky guys awaiting for your money in holiday towns in Turkey.

Lunch would cost you around €5-10 = 25-30 lira in rural area. Do not go to Hunter restaurant.

Lamb -chicken Doner is around €3-4 euro. Bottle of water is 0.30 cent (500ml)

Marlborough cigarette is 9-10 Turkish lira which is again €3.60cent.

I hope you to enjoy your holiday. If you want to ask anything , i ll do my best to answer.

dont get ripped off and cry afterwards :)

Why would you take sterling when you have euros? And pay for converting money twice?
