Just imagine what that water leak could do to the electrics.

*Qantas :).. From what I've read online it seems the Galley electrics were damaged and not any instruments in the flight deck on the face of it thankfully, very interesting to see if an investigation (which I would expect) follows.

Luckily it was just 50 mins. back to LAX. Now if it were halfway though the flight....hmm.

Definitely lucky indeed, that's a first I've heard of a leak on that scale anyway!

A380 getting a bit of bad press recently with the leaking door seals. Hope this isn't another design issue.

I had the pleasure of flying LHR - MEL a few years back on a Qantas A380 and they are such a quiet, comfortable aircraft - and that was just econ. class.

Recycling the shower water for tea came to a bit of a halt
...... seen demonstrations of contaminated water being turned to drinking quality following normal and then ultra-violet filtration.

Crew should have been able to cut power to the fresh water pump(s). I have seen numerous reports of this happening with one yacht manufacture where they used pipes designed for a vacuum in the pressurised fresh water supply. After several years on many of the yachts, a pipe would fail and if not caught the contents of the freshwater tank would be emptied into the cabin/bilge.

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?
