Looking for a hdmi switch or an alternative solution.
I want have a xbox one, a ps4, a wii u and the 3rd video output from my pc (which i use for movies etc...) connected to a single source that I can have a single hdmi cable coming out of to my tv. I also need it to have optical out to send 5.1 to my sound system.
    Any help would be appreciated

Something like this would work if you can get them to post to Ireland.

Actually the reviews on that unit aren't all that good so maybe look for a better alternative ?

I just googled "HDMI splitter with SPDIF" and got a good list.

I'm sure if you have a look at some of the AV forums around someone could recommend a decent one ? Like everything else - you get what you pay for, that unit is quite cheap for what it does so there may be better quality ones available. At least now you know what you want is available.

I bought this because i have a single HDMI TV in the bedroom but it has a Sat box PS3 on it and then wanted to put Chromecast on it.

It works faultlessly for me, and switches to the the latest item powered up.

OR you can use the remote supplied with it to switch sources.

    Does exactly what i want

I bought this unit 3 years ago and it is still working perfectly. Although it is not cheap it does have the optical out that you need. Plenty of advice from the guys on the AV forums if needed.
