Well if someone tried to log in to whatever email provider you're using with your details then the rest of Ireland better check their accounts too!

Use lastpass and get in to the routine of resetting to a new password at least once every few months. Also, check your password strength.

2 step authentication is yer only man.

Got hacked before and never again since using it.

I had no spam sent from my account. So I'm sure what they did when they logged in

It's just your friendly NSA team having a gander.

(Or you are on the 3 Ireland network which routes traffic via London).

Sky broadband can hack your emails via satellite through the satellite dish and the sky box then talks to your computer.

It's in the T&C's when you sign up. It was posted online a few months back when Sky changed them.

Do you use any VPN service? Logged in from a friend's computer once and the next time I logged in it told me that somebody had been trying to access my account from the US, turned out that he had been using a US VPN to watch Netflix.

There is various software available, its too complicated to explain. Best plan op is to switch off your sky box when going on the internet. Dont have the memory of the box above 21% either.

What's the problem? Why is everyone so private about their lives? No harm in someone having a gawk at your emails.

Giz a look, what's your login details?

I love that when you type your boards password in to a thread it appears as asterices.

    E.G: ************

    See?

Just checked my hotmail activity record. Someone in Romania tried unsuccessfully to access my email over the weekend.
I am sure they have an innocent explanation for doing that.

Probably just bots. I have unsuccessful log in attempts from China and the Philippines.

There was a successful attempt to log in to my account (gmail) a month ago from Brazil. Thankfully gmail blocked the attempt and sent me an email to alert me. Changed to two step verification, minor annoyance getting all the devices set up but once they're set up it's great.

I also get a google account activity report every month, so at least I know it was the ONLY attempt to log in and hasn't happened since.

2 step verification is the way to go.

Just activated this now had been procrastinating on it for a while. Similar to OP I got an email from Google telling someone had tried to log in in America so the password has been changed for a while now
