Been training since January for this one...my 1st ROK...
    Do 2 x 45k spins midweek and a longer 80 - 100k spin on a Sunday.
Have also done a few 100k sportifs this year and all good.
Until last Saturday, when I did a 97k and legs felt like sh*t after just 80k and really struggled in the last 17k home. Did a 45 km yesterday and legs still felt crap and my times have come down.
No idea why my performance levels have dipped at this late stage?
Now not sure whether I should be heading out tomorrow for an easy flat spin or rest up?

Rest up, impossible to make any gains beteween now and the event. You need to hit the start fresh and raring to go, not drained from training right up to the event.

Agreed, get some rest. I take my resting heart rate every morning when I wake up and log it on my phone. It's a great way of monitoring your health and when to cycle or not to. I advise anyone training to do likewise.
Like yourself I've had spells where my legs feel crap on the bike (I had a virus). Fortunately I rested long enough to see my HR return to normal. It's a fairly rough method, but suits me.

Also, I rested for a month to beat that virus. As you can expect I wasnt looking forward to gettin on the bike again but my first spin up Howth hill i set myself a new record. So like poster said above, rest properly and you'll be raring to go.
