Losing Saorview Channels

I have been losing saorview channels on and off for the past week or so. When i do a re-tune it picks up the signal from a transmitter that it shouldnt be. It should be receiving channels 55 and 59 (Dungarvan) but instead it gets channel 21 and 24(Mullaghanish). Even if I try a manual tune on channels 55 or 59 no channels are picked up.

Is this related to the weather? If not does anybody know what else might be causing this issue and what to do about it?

Yes, most likely Tropospheric ducting - http://www.ukfree.tv/helpme.php?faqid=1107051114

Distant signals on the same frequency as your local Saorview transmitter interfering with each other. In severe conditions not much you can do about it but in many cases ensuring your aerial installation is pulling in the strongest Saorview signal can reduce or eliminate the effect. Best not to do a rescan as you can lose all channels until the atmospherics settle down.

Haven't experienced it myself this year, World Cup viewing unaffected so far.

Another thread on here too about losing RTE 1.

I too am having trouble with channels over-the last 2 weeks

Picking up stuff on 46 and 55 and signal strength is very good but I can't get RTE 1 or RTE Junior.

On another telly RTE 2 dropping out every now and then and display just saying no signal but if I rescan it comes back again

    I am blaming the weather.

Not much on telly (Saorview) at the moment anyway as I am watching world cup on UK channels
