I've my Nct on Thursday and my front spit lights aren't working. My dips and heads are perfect.

Will I fail because if this?
    Thanks

Any lights you have must be working. Probably get a visual fail so won 't need to pay for retest

No. They never check front fogs.

Front fog lights are not a requirement for the NCT.

does that include a cracked fog light?

I'd say if the crack has a sharp edge on it then it would be a fail the same way as if there was another part of the bodywork that was damaged and had a sharp edge protruding out.

    A cracked foglight isn't a requirement.

You will fail if you have one though. Covering them in silage tape doesn't seem to do the trick these days either.

Black tape on front of it to show that they're just for show. But don't be suprised if you do get some proper w4nker that'll fail it.

you wouldn't notice it unless you're close up,i only spotted it while washing the car the other day,no sharp edges either

My car passed with the fogs both disconnected. Bulb blew that morning and hadn't the time to change it so disconnected both. I think there was an N/A next to AUX lighting on the result sheet

This. One of my front fog lights hasnt worked in about two years, cant afford to get it fixed (I think the whole headlight unit needs to be replaced) and it has never been an issue for the NCT.

I've been through two NCTs with a cracked front fog light cover. There's no sharp edges but there's a crack from end to end

I also passed my last NCT with no number plate lights at the back. I had a bad wiring to the boot which a few weeks later culminated in the electronic lock being disabled.

A clean (washed) car with little else wrong with it won't be subject to the same rigour in my opinion
