Have few loads of muck to be spread, will it be better spread in bare ground after silage being cut or in fields with grass in it already??

Bare ground either grazed down or after silage

Bare if ye can. Try do it as close as ye can to closing up the farm as it'll grow good grass over winter.
I'll have to start spreading soon. I reckon I've 1000 T of dung in the yard

Ah they pick up a bit of dirt on bellies alright but keep the bed dry and good straw. Having them dosed and good dry dung helps alot

And do you clean out the sheds over winter or let it pile up?
I find you wouldn't want a shed over crowded or it get outta control.

Straw pays the rent around here, €1k a load to go west, but the real smart lads rent land, bed their own cattle on straw and spread the dung on the home farm.;) Smartest lads of all buy straw in Kildare and sell it in the west.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

No cubicles. Have tank behind parlour and there's a seepage tank in pit it use as dung stead
