Does anybody know of a jeweller in Dublin that deals in or can mend 24 carat gold.

    Thanks

To be honest, any jeweller should.

That's what I thought but I have been to three and they all said America is the place to have 24carat mended.
But there has to be somewhere here.

Go to an older jewellers that has a workshop.

Many won't even try as its the harder one to mould and such. You would need an experienced jeweller and I'm sure it would cost a bit more than the lower carat golds.

Not at all! Most american jewellery is only 14 carat when ours is 18. I'm not in Dublin but any jeweller we ever went to with 24 carat had no issues with it. Avoid chainstore jewellers and go to an independent.

Thanks everybody for the replies. Anybody out there recommend an independent jeweller. I'm not very familiar with jewellers and this is an expensive piece.
    Thanks again

Give Robert Boland in Bray a call, 01 286 9891 I know he repairs jewellery in his shop.

There's a jewellery repair place on Pleasant St., just off Camden St if you're looking for someplace in town. I've used them before - they're repair only, they don't have a retail shop. I've found them very good, and reasonable.

Can't remember the name right now but if you want more info/directions I'll find out for you.

There's a place in Dundrum village called "Lance Grossman, goldsmith" and I think it is a jeweller shop that also repairs jewellery and gold work.

I found the website, yes, claims to be a "goldsmith"

If you are near Ballsbridge, Bridge Jewellers should definitely be able to do it.

I second this one, have used them a few times before and they're very good.

There's a Jewellers in Dún Laoghaire, I think it's called Facet Jewellers, they have an excellent goldsmith working for them, I'm sure if you rang them they could tell you if he can do it
