Dublin to Liverpool

Looking at the cheapest way to get to Liverpool either arriving 22nd August in the afternoon or early on the 23rd. Flying isn't really an option (heading to Creamfields so will have tents, etc...)

By the looks of it the below looks the best, €40 each way by the looks. 3.10pm over on the 22nd and the 13:50 back on the 25th.

Has anyone done this before? Any better options?

Try megabus.co.uk from Dublin to Chester. You can catch the mersey rail from Chester to Liverpool the fare is 30 pounds return on the dates you have said.

I think Megabus only operate on the night sailing leaving you into Chester in the early morning.

The Sail/Rail is probably the only way during the daytime. It's handy enough, after the ferry you get the train from Holyhead to Chester then change to Merseyrail for stops to Liverpool centre.

Cheers, so the Stenaline is probably the best option?

They both work out around the same price. It's a bit more expensive if you want to use the fast ferries instead of the normal ships.

Check the sailing times as one service might suit more than another.
