I brought a car from NI and changed to irish plates after a month.

I drove on the m50 twice and forgot to pay.

From what I've been told eflow can track down the registered owner of uk plate through dvla but do they also have access to vrt database to get address of new owner?

when i was in the process of importing my car it took me a month to do... waiting times etc. :pac:

i used the M50 everyday about twice and day for nearly a month and never paid on the uk plates. never an issue

They certainly have access to the National Vehicle and Driver File which is effectively a master database of all vehicles registered in Ireland. I'd be very surprised if the NVDF did not contain the foreign registration plate of imported vehicles.

they don't have access to foreign countries data bases . Drive on with impunity

Or alternatively contact them and, in my experience, they will gladly charge you no more than the standard fee even though it's late (as a UK reg driver).

Same here, never heard anything about it and neither did the previous owner.

I got a letter once on UK plates after a lot of driving without paying. Only the one fine but they had all my previous journeys on file. Pay it every time now.

Unless the foreign db has the OP's name and Irish address I doubt it would matter what access they had in this case.
Seemingly they do have ways of tracking down UK plates but would they bother for a few trips though.

If the NVDF has the car's UK plate noted as part of the import/registration process then it should be easy to track the OP.
