Looking to go on a European city break limited to 4 days will be heading in August and like a bit of sun, good food, wine and culture. I was in Spain this year and have been to the following already Amsterdam, Brussels, Munich, Rome, Venice, Switzerland, Paris, Riga, Stockholm, Poland, Vienna, Malta and Lisbon running out of places but know there is more to see, any good recommendations that I can squeeze into 4 days? Direct flights preferably

Barcelona, if you haven't been, already...

Berlin is a fantastic city to spend a few days. I was there last August and the weather was beautiful. Lots to do, great nightlife and really easy to get around.

+1 and Hamburg also good with both being quite different than any other city you've been to.

Big fan of Madrid myself too. Even in mad July heat, which is actually quite dry so not as oppresive as you'd think.

Bucharest or Cluj seem to both fit your bill.

    Gdansk.
Super cheap, though the flights may already be all booked out.

+2 on Berlin, great city. Has pretty much everything you're looking at. If you go and get the weather check out badeschiff. It's an outdoor swimming pool, bar and mock beach. Great atmosphere.

And no sign of Prague in the list if already visited cities which is another must see.

Porto's a great city, flights are slightly pricier than many cities but accomodation, eating out, etc. is quite cheap.

Agree on Berlin and Barcelona. Also heard brilliant things about Prague. Krakow is another good one if you haven't been (although you mentioned Poland so guess you probably have). South of France such as Nice could be a good shout, never been myself though.

Nice or Dubrovnik (not sure if there's still direct flights to the latter, AL used to fly direct a few years ago). And Barcelona.

All three just perfect for a short break/long weekend, but in very different ways.

ETA - there are indeed direct flights with AL to Dubrovnik (Mon/Wed/Fri/Sun). The old town is really quite amazing, everyone should see it once! And a brilliant ferry service out to the islands if you get sick of city life.

Haven't been to Nice in years but I keep meaning to go back some time. There's a train that runs along the coastline up through Monaco and into Italy, which takes in all the mega-posh towns - Cannes, St. Tropez, Monte Carlo etc - and Nice itself is really gorgeous.

I don't work for the Barcelona tourist board :)...but Aer Lingus operate 2 flights a day, early in the morning, and late in the evening. Going out on the early one, and coming back on the late one gives you the maximum amount of time away.
Most hotels will allow a late check out(eg 6pm) for a nominal supplement.
