    Hi all

Anyone know the cost of getting an 18ct gold wedding band increased in size by a size?

    It's gotten too tight

Sounds as if you need to dump the wife, you've outgrown the marriage.

Is it just your fingers that got fatter since the wedding?

I doubt many here are jewelers.
Go into a reputable jeweler and get a quotation.

Why would you need a warranty on a resized ring?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,954 ✭✭✭Tail Docker

Resizing is easy - get a hacksaw, make a cut through the ring, and stretch to desired size. No point wasting money on expensive jewellers. Alternatively, wear it on a smaller finger - job done. When it starts to only fit your pinkie, you need to join a gym. Or become a mobster, they love pinkie rings.

    In case it shrinks.

Nothing worse. Ring-shrink is a major issue with some brands.

That is an awful agricultural solution.

A tight ring can be problematic alright. Have to you tried some lubrication? It could make insertion a little easier.

Rubbish, they can use a junior hacksaw, no-one will even spot the teensy cut.

Tie the ring between two cars and have a pulling contest.

I don't know of anywhere in Limerick now but the missus had to get her engagement ring made smaller and she went to Celt & Clan Jewellery Repair on Pearse Street. They did it in about an hour, hour and a half maybe. Charged her €25 and they plated it. I'm not too clear on what "plated it" is but it was very shiny whatever they did.

It's the thing, you know, the whatsit, what all this balances on, It involves mysquirrells and bit and bytes, complicated stuff, you don't unbalance things like that, and No running either. The vibrations wake the neighbours.
