Gaming Mouse Dilemma: Kova+ or RAT 3?

I'm getting a new mouse tomorrow, and I found two that stood out to me, are both the exact same price, and are just what I'm looking for.

The problem is, since I haven't had a proper gaming mouse, like, ever, I am not sure which one I should go for.

The Kova+ or the RAT 3?

I was going to buy a Roccat Kone last year, but user reviews indicated they had a huge issue with their scroll wheels. Now, they may have fixed the issue, and other models may be fine, but it put me off Roccat mice for a while. Have no experience with any of the RATs.

    What's your budget exactly?

I have the Kova+ and I've never had any problems with the wheel. I like it, it's smallish and light - which I like and comfortable. The software is complete overkill though and I couldn't install the mouse without it.

I always looked at the rat and thought "Feck that'd be uncomfortable on my hand" with all the exposed parts. I like my mouse to have a smooth feel on my palm and the rat doesn't look like a comfortable experience at all.

If I had to pick from the two I'd say the Kova+. I chose an Anker 8200 dpi mouse based on price, lighting and number of buttons personally.

I had a rat, broke down almost instantly and the service was defunct. Complete waste of money. I then realised rat used to be siatec (spelling?) and I had a keyboard the broke down from them in the past. So that's two broken products from them I won't be giving them money again.

Reading mixed opinions on both. But in the end I got the RAT 5 (along with a nice affordable gaming surface mat seperately) and I absolutely love it - dpi of up to 5600 and weight adjustable.

It has a nice precision button on the left side. A bit gimmicky but my god very comfortable to use compared to my last mouse, which was way too small.

I never understood Rat designs. Looks like abortion...

They are comfortable, I'll give them that.

I really would have steered clear of them both.

Can't beat the comfort of the logitech g series (400 or 500).

Nice and big, so they fit man hands. Adjustable DPI, weights etc.

I recently ditched my Razer Deathadder and went back to Logitech, the old MX518.

I believe they have a new model out that is basically the same as the legendary MX518, the G4000 or something. Friend got it and said its pretty much identicial. Won't be leaving logitech again.

Razer was "ok" but never felt right, and to be honest outragously over priced.Have their goliathus mouse mat which is nice to be fair. Got a steelseries qck mat that was all the rage, and the thing frayed and got that crackly **** all over it pretty quickly.

There is a general trend in peripherals towards the "ooh shiny!" end of the spectrum.

At the heart of it, a mouse should be comfortable and accurate. A keyboard should avoid ghosting and feel responsive. A headset should be comfortable with good sound. Thats it.

Any bells and whistles provided at the same price bracket are only provided at the expense of these core, vital values.

Thats why I love Deathadder. Its very plain mouse with no whistles and other ****e, but it does perfectly what it needs to - being a mouse. Its not cheap, but its good.
