A fixed penalty notice will be issued

I have my car parked on the road outside my house in a housing estate.

Tax and NCT were up in March but it is still insured.

I put it through the NCT but failed on numerous things and I left it outside on the road. Its been sitting idle on the street for a couple of months.

I'm insured on the parents car which is parked in the drive and put my car on donedeal for 1,000 as I decided to upgrade it from a 1 litre and to try and get money together.

i checked the car today and a sticker with the exact phrase was on the window.

"This vehicle is illegally parked and/or has no tax/insurance displayed. A fixed penalty notice will be issued".

Just wondering what is going to happen, court appearance, fine? I'm absolutely ****ting it.

Pay the fine and that will be the end of it , Then scrap the car or move it to a private location

How much do you reckon it will be? I think a neighbor reported the car.

I got fined for no tax on public road (was parked and a warden must have walked past and nabbed me).
Think it was 80 but may differ between councils.

Was just gonna say. Have you stepped on anyones toes lately? I believe you can recive penalty points for non display of Nct and Road tax discs too. Sorry mate:(

I think it is a €60 standard fine for each offence of non displaying of a valid tax\insurance disc in the windscreen. The car needs to be parked on private property to avoid receiving such fines, I'd suggest you move it or you could receive similar again.

I'm thinking that they didn't see me driving it they can't issue the penalty points for the no N.C.T?

My understanding is that points are not automatically issued for an expired NCT but rather applied after a court appearance and judgement.

This makes me feel a whole lot better

It says a Fixed Penalty Notice for no tax/ins disc. You don't get a fixed penalty for no NCT, you get summonsed to appear in Court. So I'd say you'll just get a fine for no Tax on display and that will be that.

No penalty points for non-display of motor tax, NCT you only get points after a judge applies them in court as above.

I'd say it's a p!ssed off neighbour leaving a note, the Gardaí use PULSE which is paperless and wardens leave tickets.

But you really should look at parking the legal car on the road and the illegal one in the driveway, that way you can keep annoying the neighbours till you sell it and there's nothing they can do:D
