Hey. I have zero knowledge of anything to do with getting my website up and running. The way ye talk about this is confusing as ye say CRO n web hosts and ye may aswell be saying abc 123 because i dont get ye. Also can i get 'https' on my site?

Could you please do a step by step process of how i register my website in .ie? I do not have a brick n mortar shop. I guess my idea is a e commerce site as it would invovle money transactions. I will be outsourcing all devolpment of the site as i have no knowledge of website design or development. Will this complicate things? Should i get the domain name first or let my devolper do the job first? Any advice on outsourcing website devolpment appreciated too!

If you are setting up a business and wish to trade as anything other than your given name you will need to register a business name with the CRO (http://www.cro.ie)

For a .ie domain name you'd need to provide the CRO number that you've got when registering via one of the .ie accredited registrars.

It might make more sense to work on the website development side of things before you get the domain(s)

You will also need to get website hosting for the site. The key thing you'd need to choose between is Linux or Windows and your developer would be able to tell you which they need.

As for SSL - you can get that sorted out once you've dealt with everything else

Contact a website designer or a website design company who will hand hold you through the entire process.
