Who is supposed to pay?

    Hi

I can't find solid info on this anywhere...

I've heard that the employer should pay but I need to find that in writing to present if it's true.

    Situation in brief:

In work, big boss asked me to lift a large box (of non business related stuff), I did so and hurt myself. No manual handling training.

I reported it, filled out the required forms and was strongly advised to go to the doctor.

I was reluctant because it's pricey but I was in a bad way so I did.

Doc and prescription amounted to a days pay.

I had to take three days (certified) off to recover which I should be paid for - as I do get paid for sick leave.

Is my employer supposed to reimburse me for the expense considering the situation?

    Any info appreciated.

    Thank you

  • With my last employer I would have submitted the receipts from the doctor and prescription as expenses and would have been repaid, but I'm not sure if that was due to some sort of employment law or because it's just the way my employer did it.

Thanks, I've heard the same from other people... I've given in my receipts... but I don't think its gonna happen.

Everyone is saying they have to pay, I'd love to know!
