    Hi folks,

was asked to do a paint job recently by a friend on sash windows (Glasnevin) but they are rotten and will need to be replaced. I can only imagine what kind of prices we are going to get so really just looking for any strong candidates for consideration ?

Ye, good quality timber sash windows. Not sure about pricing as I wasn't paying for them.

    Hi Dodzy

I would avoid Sash Window Solutions anyway. I got them to refurnish four windows & a door in my house. I had to pay them 50% up front to start the work. After waiting in excess of six months for them to complete the work & numerous calls to chase them to complete the work. It became apparent that the glass they installed was not the correct spec as per contract. They put putty on the double glazed glass which is now falling off & the whole job looks terrible. I wake up every morning with the windows dripping with condensation. They even cut the door to small & I now have a gap under my door! I now have to replace the whole lot with a different vendor lot at a considerable cost!

I used ConservaSash in Kerry. They can do amazing restoration jobs on existing sash windows. If you have decided to replace them, I have never seen a better job on making modern double-glazed timber sash windows (with traditional weights and cords, not chains) look like the original window.

I have them in my own house - no connection to the company other than that. If you are looking for high-quality, I can recommend them.

    Hi

Thanks for the recommendation as I am quite nervous of getting another company to restore these windows & door given that I have wasted so much money on them to date.
