Which town in Co. Derry (except Derry city) to visit?

I have been to Derry 4 months ago and seen most of the attractions and spots. I'm heading up to Derry again for work in mid-July and hoping to see the few bits that I didnt get the chance to see the last time (Apprentice Boy's Hall, Free Derry Museum). However I have another extra one day to spare and I'd like to spend it in some neighbouring town since I dont go up this tip of the island that often (Im based in Galway)

I have 3 options in my head - Strabane, Limavady and Coleraine. Initially was thinking about doing Coleraine as well as the Giant's Causeway but I dont drive and the last bus heading back to Derry is 5:30pm which is too early, so I've decided I'll keep Giant's Causeway for next time, also I wanna see the more unionist side of the North, as Strabane is predominately nationalist I wonder if its worth the hassle. so folks any suggestion it'd greatly appreciated.

It depends if you are using public transport as the best areas further down the county are in the countryside areas and the public transport isn't the best.

When you say you want to see unionist areas, that's a tricky one, even in towns with a 50-60% nationalist population there are union flags flying and the decorations are quite extreme in July especially so you could say most of the towns look 'unionist' at least.
Coleraine is probably 65% unionist heritage and 1/2 of it is technically in Co. Antrim, Strabane is in Co.Tyrone by the way. Coleraine has a place called Mountsandel Fort which is the oldest site of human settlement on the island dating back to 9000 years ago, there is also a popular fort called Tullyhogue Fort in Cookstown, Co Tyrone which isn't far from Co.Derry, this fort is the most significant in Ulster history.

There is a good place in Limavady called Roe Valley Country Park.
Further down the county there is Dungiven, Magherafelt, Maghera, Bellaghy, Kilrea, Draperstown and Castledawson.

Even the drive from Derry City to the southern areas of the county is very picturesque as it is a very mountainous area and the area is steeped in ancient mythology.

However, if you are looking to visit unionist areas you would be better off going to areas of Belfast and it's outskirts such as Carrickfergus and Newtownabbey I find there is a different vibe in these areas compared to where I live.
