    Hi,

I finished a degree recently and was on BTEA (social welfare).
I live at home with parents who are both on social welfare pensions.

I want to do a masters in september but cant do it unless all the fee (6000) is paid.
For 2013 me and my parents social welfare add up to over 30000 euro, does this mean i can't get the special rate of SUSI grant to pay the 6000 masters fee?

    Thanks

It depends - there are certain types of income that they disallow!

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

They might disregard the noncontributory pensions in the reckonable income?

Its my understanding that your income will be disregarded leaving the household income as (52weeks x €188)x (mother +father) = €19,552

    that says designated not disregarded
