Commuting from Carlow to Dublin some by bike.

Im getting married in a few weeks and after honey moon will stop renting in Dublin and rent in Carlow as cheaper. My plan is to drive 3/4 of the way and cycle the last bit to beat the traffic. Anyone do this or have experience? I commute everyday fitness is not the issue just roads dangers on N7 etc.
