Does anyone know of an XSDirect alternative - i.e. people who'll insure a 21 year old on a high performance car?

Rang around few brokers, but they all tell me I need to be at least 25 to insure the vehicle of my choice, while XSDirect had no problems to insure it at an OK premium with a €1k excess.

A few brokers were quoting me this year from a company called Kennco. I think First Ireland were one of the companies that I contacted. Im not a young driver but I am driving a high risk car (JDM Type R). The quotes were alright; excess was a bit high but they were offering my fully comp for a lot cheaper than the likes of Axa, and the policy was alright (step back protection, windscreen cover, breakdown assistance etc).

Britton are always worth a shout also.

Britton and First Ireland told me to f... off basically.
    Haven't tried KennCo yet though.

123.ie actually quoted me online, but €6k is a bit over the top

Car in question is a 2002 BMW 330Ci

I dont think Kennco will quote you directly; youll need to go through a broker. If First Ireland cant get you a quote with them then chances are they wont quote you either.

Id say your best bet is to keep trying brokers. There was a crowd in Clane called McCormack Hooper Dolan that I got some great quotes off a few years back; it was with Setanta at the time, but they might be worth a call.

Also give ARB (http://www.arb.ie/) a shout; they used to specialize in dealing with high risk business. I got a quote off them last year that was a bit higher than I ended up paying, but it wasnt outrageous (I think it was just over a grand when I ended up paying €700).
