    Hi,
Does anyone know if I order multiple items from the USA, for example 7 DVDs, these are priced at €10 each, so €70 in total and are shipped in 1 box, will I be charged customs because the total order in the shipment is €70, but each individual item is under the €22 mark, so is it based by the total order or by item?

    Thanks

You probably will, as there will be only one customs declaration on the package, for the total amount

Thanks for the reply, it will state clearly on the invoice the price of each item so if I get charged I'll show them that and see what they say.

That makes no difference, otherwise you would have people getting up to all sorts of tricks, saying the manual is €22, box is €22, power lead is €22.

In theory even if they all came in different packages on the same day they can do you, as it could be treated as a consignment. I have never heard of this happening, it might be more an issue for importing on pallets or something.
