The area itself is ok, neither wonderful nor woeful. It's on a busy enough road but the place itself is pretty trouble free.
Be aware though that the building of the new Cork Prison is literally at the back of these houses and work will be ongoing there for the next 18 months or so. Not too pleasant if you happen to be working nights or whatever..
