Stoopid sky box didn't record the end of the Brazil match - it cut out at 23mins into extra time so I missed penalty shootout.

Anyone have any ideas why so I can try and ensure it doesn't happen next time?

programme times are already listed, this ran over the time so the skybox didnt know it had to record more. maybe set it to record the next programme and you can delete it if not needed?

Its down to the programming going outside the schedule. You could set it to manually record.

If its a Sky+ HD box you can do this by pressing Services, then 6, then 4

The RTE player went down with 10 minutes to go in extra time too because it thought Father Ted was on... bloody monkeys at the helm in RTE.

During the knockout stage of the World Cup it is a possibility that matches will overrun; as a football fan you must know this :p

Anyway the easiest way to avoid this is to set the programme following the football to record too.

BTW the recorded time would give away the fact that Extra Time and/or penalties was needed if the EPG updated and recorded the match without your intervention ;)

BBC can updated the EPG on the fly in cases like this. I've lost track of the number of programs I've missed the end of because of RTE not doing this, it's a weekly thing with them.

Agree totally on this, I have given up on recording films on RTE due to missed endings despite the SKY EPG being updated.

RTE's timekeeping is woeful anyway. 9 o'clock news is often on late and sometimes programmes start a couple of mins early. Makes no sense when everything including adverts is timed. (I'm talking outside of World Cup events here).
