Some of the reviews are saying the apartments get broke into others are saying there fine . I have my holiday booked through low cost and I can't remember when booking if I could cancel free of charge . Anyone have any suggestion on what to do ?? Book some where else if I can cancel the original accomadation ?? Anybody stay there what was your experience ?? Please let me know .

You'll have to check with your tour operator directly to get a difinitive answer.

Taking basic precautions like hiring and using the safe in your room are essential. It's a few quid that will safe you a lot of stress and worry. Make sure to close windows when you're not in your room and always lock your door.

I wouldn't rely too much on tripadvisor reviews - a lot of people tend only to post reviews when they've had a bad experience.

Like the other poster advised - just take the usual precautions- use a safe, don't leave valuables where they can be seen.

If you're really worried it can do no harm to ring lowcost holidays to see if you can cancel/rebook another hotel with them.

I'm off too Lanza Thursday and the place I'm staying gets mixed reviews too. I wouldn't read too much into it

T/A is really what you make of it. You have to weigh up the reviews and a lot you have to take with a pinch of salt.

I post a fair bit there and try to be as balanced as possible and when relying on reviews there, I tend to discount those who look like they've signed up purely to complain about that one bad experience. If they have a few reviews under their belt I'll look at those too and weigh up their objectivity in those ones. I'm also sceptical of gushing reviews from reviewers who've just joined. For example, the complex I'm staying in had two average to poor reviews in one day last week (one from a newbie), the next day another newbie added a 5 star review which just happened to counter some of the criticisms of the other two. I'd be even more suspicious of gushing reviews than bad ones. I actually reported it. Fact is, I've stayed there three times already, I know what's good about about it and going back is the best review you can give a business.

Looking at the Las Lomas reviews the first thing that struck me is that the most recent complaint of theft is a reviewer who had already made that same complaint a year ago and going back over that year there were three complaints of it, only one of whom stated that they'd used a safe.

I was wondering if the OP had read the reviews before booking. I know I wouldn't have booked based on some of the reviews there. The other side of the coin is that you're on holiday and will probably not spend a crazy amount of time there save sleeping and getting ready to go out for the evening!

    OP, try not to worry.

I read reviews on a place I was about to book...all the reviews were great, went ahead and booked it.
A few weeks went by and I checked newer reviews and there were two saying they'd had a break-in.
    Did it make me worry?

Slightly, but I went ahead with the holiday and it was fine.
Just because one or two bad things happen doesn't mean it will happen when you're there or that it happens all the time.

You're not going to be in your apartment all day; it's just a base to wash and sleep and I would just be vigilant like you're vigilant anywhere and make the most of it.
