    Hi all,

A friend of mine is starting a masters in NUI Galway in September and was looking at accommodation for the year. What areas would be the best to stay in that wouldn't be more than 15 minutes walking distance from the college but also not too close to student accomodation?

Even areas that would be 10-15 minutes cycling distance might be ok. Will welcome any suggestions

I stayed in Fairlands Park the year just gone by. That's about 5 minutes walk from college. there was very few students in the estate.

What part of the campus are they going to spend the most time in? With all the new research buildings around corrib village there could be a 20 minute difference between one end of campus and the other

I think having a good bike is a good idea if you're staying further out (which may be cheaper). You could get from many accommodation places to the university in 10 minutes by bike. There are new secure bike facilities.

Now the thing is she wouldn't be too familiar with Galway and would probably be nervous cycling on very busy roads so it'd have to be from the quieter areas inwards towards NUIG if she was cycling

    All all!
Have a house got in Glen Dara, Rahoon out in Westside for the academic year starting in September for 5 people. Already have four (2 girls and 2 lads) including myself and looking for one more. It's a double room that's spare and the rent will be €273 not including bills. Overall, I'd say rent will be no more than €325 per month. Looking for a 1st or 2nd year student, male or female.
I personally go to NUI Galway and am going into second year, however, there will be another lad going to GTI so I don't care what college you're going to. There is a deposit to be paid and first months rent required, for further details contact me.
    So if interested PM me!
