I advise everybody to get their pizza on. I had some vegan pizza today but it's for such a good cause I guess I could again.

Vegan Pizza Day is a worldwide event that will take place on Saturday 28th June. What’s the idea behind it? Well.. eating pizza, encouraging pizzerias to make pizzas suitable for vegans and spreading the world about veganism!

Art of Zen Food, who are the suppliers of vegan cheese Violife in Ireland, are hosting the event in Ireland. They are delighted to announce that Firehouse Pizza Ireland in Ballymun, Dublin, Da Mario Ristorante Italiano in Celbridge, Dublin and Fat Freddy’s Restaurant on Quay St in Galway will have pizzas suitable for vegans on the day.
The pizzerias will be using Violife cheese on their pizzas and will adhere to the Vegan Society’s standards for food preparation.

What is Violife?

Violife is a cheese made from coconut oil that is suitable for vegans. Violife is available in slices, spreads or blocs and in 12 delicious flavours. The slices and blocs melt once heated but you can also eat them raw.
It is soya-free, gluten-free and palm oil-free. Check their website for a list of vegan recipes using violife cheese.
