Butterflies

To protect my plants from caterpillars I have all of my brassica's covered up with sections of old net curtains but so far this year I have only seen one butterfly. Anybody out there know if this is unusually late for butterflies to be out and about? G

I saw loads of them earlier (Apr/May) but haven't seen any since...never thought about it until you wrote it.
