For any French speakers (or learners), there is a fantastic series of documentaries called 'Des Racines et des Ailes'. Each 2 hour episode focuses on a region or city in France or an aspect of history or culture although some episodes cover places outside France. A recent one covered the 850th anniversary of Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. One feature followed the men who built a new bell for the cathedral. Seeing them cry with pride as their bell was hoisted into place was very touching.
