Hi I had a small tip there about half an hour ago, Nothing serious but my car isn't driveable the left front wheel seems to have buckled.

Does anybody know of a tow truck service in wexford town? I'm not a member of the AA or any other organisation. Also do I get the car towed to my house or too a garage? Won't have the money to pay for any repairs till i get paid next week but dont want to get it towed to my house and then have to pay to get it towed again to a garage.

Also has anyone any idea how much this will cost car is about 1 mile from my house?

    Thanks :(

Is it the wheel that is buckled? Or is the steering off on one side? In other words, I presume the spare wont make any difference to this situation?

The wheel is buckled I'm no mechanic so not sure exactly what it is the other person mentioned the wishbone and it could be as simple as snapping it back in.

Does your insurance have breakdown assistance? Could be worth ringing to find out. The info is often on the insurance disk.

Would changing to your spare not get you home or to a garage? Also double check your insurance may include road side assist

I'm not sure the whole wheel is bent in on the bottom its at an angle, Was even a struggle to push it off the road

If you're wheels are still parallel:

then just change the wheel to the spare in the boot (if you have a spare).

If the wheel that is damaged is also pointing in a different direction to the undamaged side:

Then you're going to need a tow. I'm still not clear from your answers what the case is. If the wheel is buckled, but straight it should be fine to move. If the wheel is buckled, and no longer pointing in the same direction as you would expect with the steering wheel you will need a tow....

Do you know anyone who is in the AA..? They rescue the member, regardless of who's car it is.
Take them to your car, and get them to ring. Car will get towed to wherever.

Well managed to drive the car at about 5mph to a friends friend who is a mechanic, Fixed it there and then a small bolt by the brakes had snapped so he just replaced that.

But now I have another problem the car is drinking petrol like mad. A tenner will fill out to the quarter tank mark and I've driven about 2 miles and its halfway to empty from that mark already. Could something have been hit?

Obvious question, is there a visible leak?
