    Hi all.

Changing the oil in my Volvo 1.6d this evening. Does anyone know the oil capacity off the top of their head.

    Thanks in advance.

It is a C30. Getting different numbers all over the place ranging from 3.75 to 5.8 litres.

It should be just under 4 litres (3.75) as this would be the PSA engine. Check you maintenance book that came with the car as this should state it.

Make sure you use the correct oil especially if the car has a DPF - it should be ACEA C1 or ACEA C2 Low saps oil

    Thanks Audioslaven.

I have 5 litres of low saps ready to go but when I saw 5.8 litres being thrown around I thought I would double check incase I needed more

Any motor factors can tell ya.

I could be wrong but did some increase the sump size to combat sludgeing

Measuring the drained oil will give you an exact amount so you don't risk overfilling.

Peugeot/Citroen just modified the dip stick so the top mark is higher than what was on the previous dipstick...;).....Cheap modification...:D

3.75 litres does the job for anyone that stumbles across this in the future.
