I recently bought a dress for the brother-in-law's wedding.

I can't post a link as I'm a new user but if you google Biba Spot Pleated Maxi Dress With Removeable Brooches, its the first result (or search it on House of Fraser)

I'm worried its a bit too evening gowny, but everyone tells me its lovely on and not to worry.

    Is is a bit OTT?

EDIT: To help other posters, here's the dress in question

I think it depends on your age. If you are in your 20's or early 30's i would think you were too young for this type of dress.

Being honest it's not something I myself would wear. How old are you? I agree with previous poster who said its more suited to an older lady, if you are in your thirties or under I think you could find something much nicer for a summer wedding.

I think it looks fine, without knowing your age, but if you're fretting about it now, when people have said it's lovely, then you will be on the day, so better to take it back and find something else. You want to enjoy the day not be worrying about your outfit.

To me, it's a fine dress, and seems modestly sparkly. However, the black colour wouldn't appeal to me this time of year.

I echo what everyone else has said.

It's a lovely dress but if you're under 30 it could be ageing on you. Plus I don't think black is very summer wedding feeling.

If you're stressed about it now you probably won't be happy wearing it on the day. I would say look for something else.

thanks everyone. Will be returning it, as I'm just not comfortable in it myself.
