got a new air and oil filter and a chain tensioner from micksgarage

    old tensioner out

old spring is much shorter than the new tensioner, was definitely causing the noise.

    10357582_10153021836938776_6887794218775249506_n.jpg
    new air filter in

    10556444_10153021837073776_6012736175354180947_n.jpg
dropped the sump, only a bit of solidified oil, luckily no tensioner guide pieces.

all cleaned up and new sump gasket and bolts installed.

then some nice new oil and filter , no more chain rattle and the engine is smooth as silk even on a cold start.

Wired up a reversing camera , fairly easy install with everything in the boot and no runs to the front.

head unit is OEM, I've a full BMW mk4 navigation setup,

camera was an ebay job that I got from germany for 30 quid, very happy with the quality I have to say, it has no night vision but the reverse light light up enough to see clearly in the dark.
