Hi i currently receive my dole in the post office weekly but i suffer from (at times very severe) social anxiety disorder, and can be at times queueing for 40-50 minutes in our local P.O which can be hellish for me, i was wondering would it be possible for me to request that i may be paid into the bank instead??

It isn't possible to have it paid in to the bank and the problem with even asking for that would be that it would raise the issue of your actual eligibility for Jobseekers as you need to be both looking for and available for full time work and your present difficulty may put a lot of restrictions on that. Perhaps, it might be best to look into applying for Disability Allowance instead? In the meantime, it is often possible to pick up your Jobseekers payment from the post office on the day before the actual paydate and it is available for three days from the paydate. If that period covers a Saturday morning, it may well be a quiet time to go, with minimal queuing.

Thanks for your answer & i guessed as much, i have looked into claiming disability but the truth is i am ready and capable of working as when i am busy it doesn't affect me, im just not good at being in crowds for long periods of time,so i guess ill just have to keep sweating it out until i find work & as you said try different times when it is hopefully less busy :)
