Don't see a thread for today yet so here goes. Owners of EASTER SPIRIT (8:30 Tipp) are bullish about their chances today. Looks like a Denis Hogan gamble on the go, 20s into 8s.

Looks like Boyles are after taking some of this gamble only laying 4/1 now, 7s still in most places.

4.20 Yarmouth Emerald Sea 21/10 Cover Bet 3 Places is the best bet you'll see all day. Will be stunned if its out of the first 3 and think he'll take a lot of beating. Outstanding price give its 3s in the outright market. Wouldn't put anyone off having a nice bet on.

Emerald Sea absolutely ****. Apologies to those who followed.

Anybody see what happened in the 3.30 that dance and dance got awarded the race?

Hogan is some gangstar, this yoke could be laid out for a lay now. Sure they back the horse off the boards then drifts like mad and will either bolt up or be as good as pulled up as we see with him before.

Bet365 had to suspend betting for an hour at lunch time in this race.

I'd a small bet @ 10s for interest but wasn't getting involved heavy on one of his.

Another gamble on in the 7.00, 12s into 4s. Ucanchoose, C+D form to show at least and effective around this mark. On @ 8s. A bit of word about.

Also on Roisin Dubh in the 7.30, 3/1.

How does he make money in this way?

The 8.30 is a right puzzle. Last year's winner Carpet Elegance runs again, with last years's jockey (5 lb claimer) on board again for the first time since and still claiming the 5. The O'Brien horse made up serious ground at Fairyhouse LTO when he saw daylight. A hard race to figure all in all.

And in the 7.00 apparently Calm Bay is 9 lbs well in sez the Racing Post.

He'd tell lads its a good thing, they back it blindly which shortens the price. Then he lays it and the horse runs like its lost a leg!!:pac:

Dunno if he makes money or not.

But with 16 winners from 268 runners in the past 12 months with only 2 on the flat (2 horses count for 5 wins btw), it's hard to be confident if the horse is "going" for it or not with these gambles.

They might have got dusted I say with that Benalex Park, backed it off the boards in Musselburgh at start of the year, 14s into 5s. Drifted out to 16s and you couldn't give it away at any price and bolted up. Madness and if you seen the form of the yoke, beaten 315L's on its 5 runs earlier. Lads were laying it and backing it, nuts!

Nothing worse than getting a text for a horse in the same race as another "tip" you got and backed it already.

Ever Yours @ 14/1 in the 7pm. I'll have a small few euro also, on Ucanchoose @ 8s e/w already.

A forecast sure while im at it :D

Got a small stake on ADORE in the next (6:40) at Leicester. Got on at 2/1. Should go well on this ground.

EDIT: Won, drifted out to 9/4.

The owners were busy backing this horse all morning at fancy prices so their money is down. Denis hogan has owners in the yard that like a good old fashioned gamble and laying on betfair would be alien to them(not saying that it couldn't happen).

Fwiw (i think) there is no value at current prices 4/1

OBrien Pissed up, pure stopped lto and was as obvious as hell. Plenty of 3s about this morning for it also. Wish could be all that easy and have race over when turning for home.

Lovely ride from Wayne Lordan there, took the longest path around but found good ground.

It was and as I expected that hogan gamble ran into 3rd was all. Ew money landed but far from winning the race.

You got to be wary of his gambles and not get sucked in.
