I'm working in a jobbridge placement so I don't get wageslips or even those weekly JSA receipts.

In terms of expenses, I've said I get the bus to and from work each day. Do I really need to collect every single bus ticket during the week and send them all off?

Did you call the HSE to check what's required?

No, I'd like to think I wouldn't be left with these questions if I'd spoken to them already.

They're the ones to answer you. Call them.

Send in a week's or a month's worth of bus tickets. On your recent bank statements, circle your weekly JobBridge payments.

More info re documentation shows up in pink colour on the Medical Card application form http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/schemes/mc/forms/Medical_Card_GP_Visit_Card_Application_Form.pdf

Given that I'm only 'earning' 238 a week, could I just scratch the travel expenses off my application and submit it? Otherwise I'm just delaying my application further while I collect these tickets.

I presume you are single? In that case do not bother entering any outgoings such as travel, rent etc. You are automatically entitled to a full medical card if your only income is social welfare. The only document you will need to submit is a letter from the social welfare confirming that you are on the JobBridge scheme. This letter must state the date you started your JobBridge placement and the date you are expected to finish.

If you have a spouse/partner and they have income other than social welfare, then you should submit one weeks worth of bus tickets.

    Very much appreciated.
