    Hi All,

I've managed to loose a second alloy wheel centre cap so it's about time I bought a replacement, rang the main dealers and I'm being quoted €35 each, I don't think they are that, had a check on ebay a few old sales went through at ~£4, can anyone advice the best place to get them?

Part number is 42603-02150, it's from a Toyota Avensis.

eBay is usually the handiest once you make sure it's an original and not a cheap copy. Measure the size and type in something like Toyota XXmm centre cap. You'll find a lot of UK dealers on there.

Ideally I'd like to get the same as the others so it doesn't look odd so I'd like to get it by part number, it's very difficult to be sure on ebay by the photos

The prices on eBay can be so low that you could probably get 2 (match one side) or even 4 quite reasonably.

Very good point, I need to get 2 anyway

Most of them on ebay will probably only sell you them in sets of 4 anyway. As per normal on ebay just watch the price of the postage, this is where they can make their money.

I recently bought centre caps for my VW off ebay as the originals were looking shabby. Just had to measure the diameter of them as there are a few different sizes, paid €14 for a set of 4, very good quality and they fitted perfectly.

Can you send me on the sellers details Bazz? PM is fine if you'd prefer

Even the knock off centre caps on ebay can do the job. Had a set on mine for a year and a half, and they still looked the part, and had they failed I could just buy another cheapy set. But if you can get genuine ones for not much more then go with them!

I can get 2 genuine ones for £28, same part number as the ones I have, can't really complain wih that considering that I just put €50 on a horse :)

www.shop4toyota.co.uk is who I ordered from in case anyone is on the look out.

I needed a centre cap for a Jaguar wheel and had the same problems, until I saw them advertised on DD (I think) from an outfit called Kingdom Alloys, based in Castlemaine in Kerry. Got a set of 4 for a fraction of what was being asked elsewhere.

I just hope no one goes stealing my BBS centre caps...now they're expensive!

I checked out their adverts page, I'd have to get 4 caps which are slightly bigger than what I have and pay €5 shipping, €30 for the 4 which look a bit plastic when for a couple of yoyo more I can get 2 metal ones which are the same.

It's scarey how easily they pop out alright, just a little pop and you have them, but if someone was going to steal a centre cap for an alloy I'd be happy that's all they took and didn't key the car or something

I got 4 in a dealer for an 04 avensis last year weren't that expensive.

I rang 3 local dealers and the cheapest for 1 was €24.87, that dealer was 1 that I'd problem with during a warranty repair so I wasn't too pushed about giving them business.

That's crazy expensive .. I've just got 4 original Mazda ones for my MX-5 from the UK for £6.77 each.

It's a bit crazy alright, but it is a solid piece of metal, there doesn't seem to be any plastic in it at all. Car does look sh1te without them as well

They're supposed to be plastic anyway.
God knows I put enough of them on avensiss back in the day.

I'm sure they didn't fall off either.

1 came off because of an over-zealous power washer I think, the other the clips at the back of it broke.

The horse lost by the way

The clips probably got broken when you got tyres

A little dab of silicone on the inner side of the cap helps to keep it in place and more difficult, but not impossible, to remove.
