    Hi.
I was following a thread on moths caught this year and was wondering...
...what is the best system of moth trapping?

Depends. I started with a 15 watt actinic Skinner trap. It's ideal for the average suburban garden. I later changed to 40 watt but can't say it has increased my catches much. If you have a very large site you can trap on you could use a mercury vapour Robinson trap which is probably the best but these are very bright and will upset the neighbours if they are close by. It will catch very large numbers of moths which can be overwhelming.

There is are some good guides here:

Thanks half-cocked. I was hoping to do a zero capital cost version. Any ideas?

Minimal cost but not zero for this self-build.
