EDT in two months?

I have done 4 of the 12 EDT lessons. Thing is, I can't really get any practise in between the lessons as I live away from home and no real access to car. Obviously this makes the lessons harder.

Thing is, i'm moving to Belfast in September and you can't use a provisional license up there. So really I would like to have my full by the start of September. Is this feasible giving the constrained time frame? Could I ask the instructor for two lessons a week? The real problem is the lack of practise I can get in, so there is no guarantee I will necessarily be ready by the end of August for any test :o

Impossible as you have to wait before you complete your 12 EDTs before you can even apply to do your full test. You will be waiting at least 2 months just to do that. Seeing as you can't get any practice in between lessons it's highly unlikely you will pass you test first time.

And if I asked to for two EDT's a week? So I could have the 12 done by the end of July. But yeah, the passing could be an issue alright :P

That's incorrect, you don't have to wait until the 12 lessons are done to apply for the test, you can apply at any time but you won't be given a test date until all 12 are done. It's also possible to get a cancellation by calling the RSA as soon as they're completed.

A friend of mine recently got a test date less than 2 weeks after she'd completed her EDTs

When did you get your learner permit? You have to wait 6 months after you get that to do a test as far as I know.

Oh I have that a year or so now. Really if I could get 2 EDT lessons a week I would be ok; assuming I come on with progression fairly fast. Obviously a lot of assumptions.

Perfectly possible. Do an intensive course like this. Then apply for a cancellation. Job done.
And if you don't pass first time, you can get the train down to try again.

I knocked off 4 edt lessons in one day coming up to my test. Drove 1 hr to test centre, 2 hours driving test route and one hour back. Obviously the instructor had no issue with this as I was pretty experienced driver but talk to your instructor.

I started driving in early March, had my Licence at the end of May. It's doable.
