Buying a suit in Bangkok

I'm interested in buying a suit while I'm travelling through Thailand. I will only be in Bangkok for a few days at the end of my trip but I will probably be passing through on my way to chiang mai. Would it be easy to go to a tailor when im passing through and then come back before my departure to have a fitting and collect the suit? Does it take long to make alterations after the fitting? And can anyone advise a good tailor, I've heard to Tailor on Ten being good, has anyone heard of it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check TripAdvisor or Google tailors in Bangkok. Much better of paying the extra 15 or 20 euro for a reputable tailor. I went to get measured and went back the next day for a first fitting. Went of travelling and returned for one night. Got a final fitting which required alterations which was done within 2 hours. Then picked it up. If you are really short on time they will have the whole process done in a little over a day!

make sure you check out reviews online before picking a tailor - or even better, if your hotel is a decent hotel they might have a recommendation.

I have three suits I got 7 years ago in Bangkok and they are still like new. I wear suits every day to work. I think in total three suits (two trousers with each), 5 shirts (also tailored) and a couple of ties came to a cost of about €350 and they shipped them to me in ireland for an additional €20. I had the initial fitting, then the following evening they came to the hotel for another fitting and then shipped, if I was around another night I would have been able to collect them.

Was there any problem with customs? Mate of mine was stung for this but he sent the suit home himself.
