    quick question

I bought the materials to refurb my alloy wheels ( 05 passat standard alloys) and i picked up etch primer... now i know its moreso designed to primer bare alloy wheels or chome alloys for painting, but will it work if i use it over laquer before respraying it silver?

You'll have to key the surface of the paint will be peeling in ten days regardless!

etch primer is supposed to go onto metal really and provide a key for other primers etc over it.

Laquer is the last layer to go on.

Definitely do not put etch over laquer. Putting anything over laquer (other than more laquer) probably wont work and will look ****e

    Ok then...

You can't put it on lacquer, at a minimum you'll have to key the surface so it will stay stuck longer than a day.

Are you planning to refurb your wheels by just painting over the existing finish? It will look crap no matter what primer you use or what it's designed to.
