Hi, since start of year I work 3 days a week, Tues, Wed, Thurs. I saw something on Citizens Information and wondering if anyone with HUman Resource knowledge can help me. Am I entitled to be paid for Bank holidays/public hols even though I only work 3 days and my pattern of days are unaffected by bank hols etc.....
    Thanks

As far as I remember when I worked part time if I didn't work a bank holiday I was paid some percentage of my average weekly wage.

I worked part time only 1 day a week and got 8% added on to my wages for holidays. Not sure the exact details of it though.

If you have worked 40 hours in the previous 5 weeks then yes, you are entitled to 1/5 of your weekly pay as your public holiday benefit.

If for example you earn €100 per day for Tue/Wed/Thur it equals €300 per week and you are entitled to 1/5 of this for a public holiday so €60
